Various natural ingredients native to Indonesia contain lots of antioxidants with various active ingredients, one of which is brown seaweed, namely Sargassum polycystum, Padina Australis and Turbinaria conoides. Brown seaweed contains secondary metabolites that are beneficial to health, namely alkaloids, terpenoids, steroids, tannins, saponins, and glycosides which are included in the drug and pharmaceutical industry. Phenolic compounds in brown algae have structural components that are inseparable from the cell wall and have various protective functions from UV radiation, which play a role in algae and protection against biotic factors and have therapeutic properties. The aim of this study was to determine the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of brown seaweed Sargassum polycystum, Padina australis and Turbinaria conoides from Sayang Heulang Beach. Determination of phenolic levels was carried out using the Follin-ciocalteu method and antioxidant activity testing using the 2,2-Diphenyl-1-Pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) method. Based on the research that has been done, it can be stated that the total phenolic content of the powder Sarggassum polycystum, Padina australis and Turbinaria conoides are 3.04, 0.98 and 3.24 mg SAG / g, respectively. While the antioxidant levels have IC50 of 823.71, 417.10 and 320.07 ppm.

Keywords: Antioxydant, Padina australis, Sargassum polycystum, Turbinaria conoides
Prasetyorini, Nurfachma Ilmana Dewi Sajidin, Diana Widiastuti Copyright (c) 2026 Ekologia: Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Dasar dan Lingkungan Hidup https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ekologia-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/ekologia/article/view/116 Wed, 29 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 POPULASI ANGGREK ENDEMIK Tainia elongata J.J.Sm DI KAWASAN TAMAN WISATA ALAM SITU GUNUNG, SUKABUMI https://ekologia-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/ekologia/article/view/117
Tainia elongata is one of several endemic orchids found in Java. Data collection on the Tainia elongata J.J.Sm orchid population and supporting data was carried out using the line transect method and sample plots by dividing it into 3 locations, namely location A at an altitude of 1024 - 1027 m asl, location B at an altitude of 1031 - 1036 m asl, and location C at an altitude of 1042 - 1166 m asl. From the 3 sampling locations, 23 individuals of Tainia elongata, J.J.Sm. orchids were found. At location A, with a population value of 0.002/m2, 75% humidity, air temperature of 220C, soil pH of 6.9, the few individuals found were influenced by the dominance of ferns. Location B had 73% humidity, an air temperature of 220C, soil pH of 7, and no orchids were found due to high human activity. The third data collection location is location C with a population of Tainia elongata orchids, J.J.Sm 0.024/m2 with an air temperature of 210 C, humidity of 80%, and soil pH of 6.9. This study aims to estimate tree volume, biomass content, and carbon stock in four urban forest parks located in the City of Bogor: Taman Peranginan, Taman Heulang, Taman Kencana, and Taman Ekspresi Sempur. Field data were collected through direct measurement of tree diameter at breast height (DBH), tree height, species identification, and wood density estimation. Tree volume was calculated using a cylindrical approximation formula, biomass was estimated using the allometric model of Chave et al. (2014), and carbon stock was derived assuming that 47% of dry biomass constitutes carbon, based on IPCC 2019 guidelines. The results indicate that Taman Heulang has the highest carbon stock at 275 tons, followed by Taman Kencana (220.8 tons), Taman Peranginan (220 tons), and Taman Ekspresi Sempur (195 tons). Tree volume and carbon stock were significantly influenced by DBH, height, wood density, and species composition. Heavy-wooded species such as Mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni), Banyan (Ficus benjamina), and Teak (Tectona grandis) stored the largest amounts of carbon. Parks with higher species diversity and larger-diameter trees demonstrated greater carbon storage capacity. This study confirms that urban forest parks play a significant role in climate change mitigation and should be managed according to sustainable ecological principles.

Keywords: Carbon Stock, Urban Forest Park, Bogor.
Shinta Fitria Ovianti , Srie Rahayu Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ekologia-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/ekologia/article/view/119 Wed, 29 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 PENGARUH PEMBERIAN EKSTRAK UMBI BIT (Beta vulgaris L.) To reduce stress, animals must have high stamina or endurance. This research was conducted to obtain an overview of chicken blood under transportation stress by administering beetroot extract and to determine the optimal concentration of beetroot extract in stabilizing chicken blood when experiencing transportation stress. This study used a randomized block design consisting of 0.1 g/W, 0.5g/W, 1g/W and placebo. The experimental animals used were 15 broiler chickens weighing between 1.5 – 1.7 kg with a CV value of 5.31%. The results of this study indicate that beetroot extract can stabilize the value of hematocrit, hemoglobin and white blood granules in broiler chickens subjected to transportation stress and the concentration of beetroot extract at a concentration of 0.1 g/BW to stabilize the value of hematocrit, hemoglobin and white blood count in broiler chickens. broiler chickens under transportation stress.

Keywords: Broiler chicken, Beetroot, Transportation stres
Febriana Baharsah, Triastinurmiatiningsih, Wahyu Prihatini Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ekologia-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/ekologia/article/view/121 Wed, 29 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 UJI AKTIVITAS EKSTRAK Chondrus sp SEBAGAI ANTIBAKTERI Escherichia coli https://ekologia-fmipa.unpak.ac.id/index.php/ekologia/article/view/122
Escherichia coli is a bacterium that causes diarrheal diseases or gastrointestinal infections in humans that often occur in various geographies of the world. One of the treatments of bacterial infections is the use of antibiotics. Antibiotics can stop the growth or kill the bacteria that cause the infection. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics is a problem that can occur due to the unwise and rational use of antibiotics. The purpose of this study was to analyze the antibacterial activity of 96% ethanol extract of Chondrus sp. against the growth of Escherichia coli, which is one of the causes of diarrhea.
